Here they are, our 2004 Results (picture on the right)! Compare them to years 2000 and 2002. The above deer were all raised on the same open range ranch, same herd of deer. Astonishing Results! As a retired Research Veterinarian, I try to teach each Trophy Hunter what is happening in the Trophy Bucks body and also what is happening in the Does as well. Few hunters really understand the Rut and why it all happens and how. SCIENTIFIC VETERINARY ANTLER EVALUATION PROGRAM

Could there be something missing from your deer herds ability to grow maximum antlers?  Many deer herds of the world have minor to major missing links which keep them from developing maximum antler growth potential.  With ever increasing costs in producing a great deer herd, perhaps your herd needs a scientific analysis to check why it does not produce the herd's maximum.

We go to the source of the problem, scientifically by analyzing deer antlers, deer bones, soil samples, and physically looking at the deer, the forage, deer density numbers, to determine what is missing and then what can be done to correct the problem.  By looking at the entire picture, and scientifically analyzing each facet of the problems, the entire herd can be improved immensely.

One of our veterinarian or technical assistants will come out to your ranch, or lease or property and take samples, look your herd over, and then analyze what the problems are, and the Antler-X Institute, advised by Dr. Vogt, will prescribe a road map to correct the problem, and then show you how to correct the problems, and get the results that are desired.  There are always several routes to correct these problems, and usually the more rapid routes are the most expensive. Many of the problems are not expensive at all.

The problems can be simple or complex and we will work together to "leave the deer herds of the world in better conditions that when we found them."  We will scientifically analyze antlers, other bones, soil, and perhaps the vegetation and water. We will leave no "bone" unturned to advise the buyer of the best methods to increase the size, and mass, and number of points on the antlers of the deer.  This project will greatly increase the weight of the deer involved as well.

We will road map a plan for the next two years to get the project started and moving in a positive direction.  Your problems will be our problems, and we will work together.  Ranchers have reported up to 40% increases in 3 years in the deer's antler size, mass, number of points and the weight of the animal.  Deer have been found to make a 50 inch gain in antler growth in just one month. 

Lionel Garza of the Muy Grande contest reports that the record holder for a typical deer take in open range has evolved from this program, and more winners at The Muy Grande contest have come from this program than any other in the history of the 35 plus year history of the contest which is renowned to the world as the "Father of All Deer Contests," the oldest and perhaps the largest known Deer contest.

About ANTLER-X and Dr. G.W. Vogt

From the time Dr. Vogt was in his early childhood the fondest memories came from the many trips to the hunting camps and lodges. His focus was constantly on the Whitetail Deer and most specifically the antlers. Antlers have been and continue to be the ultimate driving force in the obsession with the Whitetail. How and why do they grow, and how to make them larger. Be rest assured that from the early association as far as Dr. Vogt can remember he thought about antler development at least 100 times each and every day of his life!

The dream of -ANTLER-X- was to produce bigger and better antlers than has ever been imagined. He researched dozens of books, checked the old ice houses and deer coolers, as well as, looked at 1000's of deer heads, photos and also talked to ranchers, old timers and professionals to absorb as much knowledge as possible.

Dr. Vogt then enrolled in veterinary school. This would be the way he could learn to truly understand antlers scientifically and medically. In essence, he tried to learn all he could about nutrition, genetics, and reproduction. He volunteered his time to feed lots, shelters and wildlife zoos to further his quest for knowledge.

Then he patterned most of his life to answer this question: What is the most important thing that will make antlers larger? Only after chemically analyzing thousands of antlers, soil samples, bones, etc. to look for similarities, trends and missing elements in high fenced areas did the 12 years of medical and nutritional research start all coming together. Now he has also added 10 years of research on open range to substantiate his findings. If today’s athletes are 30-40% larger than 20 years ago, it’s not entirely genetics, hence it’s nutrition.

Dr. Vogt's research is now done, and he has the answer. Three top deer in only the past 4 years at the "Muy Grande" Deer Contest (Worlds Oldest and Largest) is the proof in the pudding.
